Tradespeople’s hotel in Torslunde
A tradespeople’s hotel with a focus on homely comfort
The new tradespeople’s hotel consists of two buildings: the room building is constructed from 18 specially designed modules stacked over two storeys, along with a smaller building consisting of 2 modules. The 18 bespoke room modules provide space for 34 functional, comfortable and cosy rooms. Although each room is only 9 m², they are fitted with separate toilet and shower facilities, delivered as prefabricated bathrooms in a steel frame. The remaining two modules form a cosy communal building with a lounge, kitchen and dining facilities, giving residents a place to gather after work.
Because the hotel is built as modular construction, it is easy for the client to scale up the size and capacity if demand for accommodation for tradespeople in the Greater Copenhagen area increases.

Project design
Internally, the hotel is built using durable, easy-to-clean and healthy materials that help ensure a good indoor climate. The floors in the common areas and rooms are finished with wood-textured vinyl parquet, and the toilet floors are finished with vinyl. The ceilings are clad with wood-wool cement boards to provide good acoustics. Large windows in both the rooms and common areas contribute to the building’s excellent natural light.
Externally, the modules’ façades are clad with dark grey fibre cement boards, and the roof is finished with two layers of roofing felt, giving the hotel a uniform and modern appearance. In addition, solar control film has been fitted to all windows to reduce light and heat in the rooms. The hotel is ventilated via decentralised ventilation units located in separate plant rooms. Heating for living areas and domestic hot water is provided by air-to-water heat pumps.

Do you need help with a similar project?
We can support you throughout the entire process: from the initial considerations to the completion of your project. We provide advice based on your needs and create a solution that works in everyday use and meets your requirements.
It has been crucial for us that the hotel does not look like, or bring to mind, a site cabin or a hostel, where, for example, having your own shower and toilet is not a given. We want to offer tradespeople proper conditions with a homely atmosphere. In addition, tradespeople can prepare their own meals in the shared kitchen, while also having the option to order both breakfast and packed lunches for the working day.
