Office building for Ballerup Psychiatry

The new building consists of 8 specially designed modules, fitted out as single-storey office and consultation facilities. The building includes 9 individual consultation rooms and three meeting rooms—two smaller and one large—as well as a small kitchenette and several toilets, one of which is accessible, designed for wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility.

The modular design has made it easy to prepare the building so that a first floor can be added with ease, should Ballerup Psychiatry need to expand its capacity.

The interior has been designed with a focus on creating bright and welcoming rooms with good acoustics, tailored to the building’s purpose for psychiatric research. The structure is built from healthy materials that contribute to a good indoor climate with favourable daylight conditions. The building is ventilated with decentralised, silent ventilation units from MicroVent, which help create a good working environment.

Externally, the building is clad with Swiss Pearl Brushed façade cladding in light grey, with Thermowood pine planks at the entrance and black roofing felt. Materials chosen to give the building a simple, clean-lined appearance.

The building has high insulation performance and low energy consumption in accordance with current building regulations, and is heated with underfloor heating via an air-to-water heat pump.
